Our Pearson accredited Consultus Care Training Centre is approved to train Carers for the Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
Pearson Accredited Training Centre
Central to the Consultus service is our award-winning team of experienced training providers. Our trainers are chosen not only for their relevant background experience but also for their motivation to prepare Carers for their caring role and aid in their career development.
We provide a wide range of Carer training courses to aid in your career and personal development from our Training Centre, including BTEC Awards & Certificates, First Aid and Emergency First Aid training, Dementia care, Moving and Positioning Courses and End of Life (Palliative) Care training.
Health and Social Care Services are changing and are becoming increasingly complex. That is why we strive to improve the quality of care across the industry whilst keeping the cost to Carers as low as possible. Our ultimate goal is to create a world where experienced Carers are visible at all times, recognized for the truly wonderful work they do and in turn become empowered professionals.
At Consultus, we offer a rolling programme which gives you more flexibility with your training. You can start the qualification when you are ready, subject to assessor availability. Successful completion of this training course will provide you with a nationally recognised qualification. Both of our National Vocational Qualifications are Pearson Accredited.
These qualifications usually take up to six months to complete. You will need to complete nine mandatory units and at least an additional eight optional units. Each unit comes with a number of guided learning hours, which will give you an indication of how long that unit will take to complete. These units will cover the necessary skills to perform the role of the health and social care worker to a high standard.
Any theory work for your course will be completed using our online e-portfolio system. This means a computer or tablet will be required for the duration of your training course. Full training on how to use these distance learning resources will be provided during your two-hour diploma induction session.
Your allocated assessor will support individuals that require additional help during their studies, such as those who may not have studied since leaving school, or for whom English isn’t a first language or those who just lack confidence.
NVQ Level 2 Health And Social Care
The NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care is aimed for those who work as a Care Assistant or Support Worker in any social care setting. The programme focuses on improving the delivery of care to service users. It is recommended for home Care Assistants, Community Support Workers, Healthcare Assistants or any residential Service Assistants that provide adult care.
NVQ Level 3 Health And Social Care
The NVQ Level 3 is the equivalent of an A-level qualification and is best suited for those who already work in the social Care Sector and have experience working without supervision. This programme sets the standard for those working in Health and Social Care and will provide you with the fundamental skills necessary to provide the highest standard of care.
Successful completion of this training course will be assessed through evidence of your practical competency which will be gathered by our experienced assessors. This will be done while your assessor observed you caring for your client in their own homes on at least two occasions.
For Consultus Carers, this will be an observation during a typical live-in care booking. For non-Consultus Carers, your observation will be done at either your client’s home or at a care home. For all observations, the location will need to be within a commutable distance of our head office and Training Centre in Tonbridge.
